Shiloh Old Site's Pastoral Ministries
Deacons
Biblically, the word for "deacon" is simply the word for a faithful servant within the spiritual community. Similar functions were performed in Jewish synagogues. Shiloh Old Site's male deacons continue the biblical tradition of faithful service by: > Providing direct assistance to the pastor as needed > Serving communion on the first Sunday of each month > Serving the church and its members in a multitude of ways as needed > Providing outreach to sick and shut-in individuals > Orienting new members > Providing outreach to the community > Preparing male candidates for baptism
Chair: Deacon Willie Conyers (540.786.8523) Meeting Schedule: Shiloh Old Site's deacons normally meet at the church building at 7 p.m. on the first Monday of each month
Senior Deacons: Anthony Anderson, James Bailey, Gene Benson, Thurman Brooks, Gilbert Coleman, Harold Conway, Willie Conyers, Aaron Hackett, Johnny Johnson, Shelton Johnson, Horace McCaskill, Eddie Rhoden, Sidney Robinson, Lawrence Smith, Lenwood Turner Sr., James Watson Junior Deacons: None at this time
