Educational Scholarships Available

SHILOH BAPTIST CHURCH (OLD SITE) presents a limited number of scholarships annually to persons who maintain active ties to the church and are pursuing college or vocational education.

These scholarships, known as the Alsop Burruss Thornton Scholarships, are funded by money left to the church for this specific purpose by the late Rev. Norma Burruss. The application deadline is May 15 of each year.

Scholarships are open to high school graduates who will be beginning college or advanced vocational education and to those who are continuing in such programs, but each applicant must meet the stated criteria and must submit an application by the deadline.

>> Specific instructions, general information, and all necessary application materials for those who are just beginning college or advanced vocational education are available by clicking here.
