The Senior Choir

Hymns, anthems, cantatas, spirituals, and more

Shiloh Old Site's Senior Choir provides music at the 11 a.m. service on the first Sunday of each month. Selections include traditional hymns, contemporary anthems, arrangements of traditional spirituals, and traditional gospel songs. The Senior Choir sings with accompaniment provided by Shiloh’s historic pipe organ, as well as piano.

The Senior Choir, joined by singers from other Shiloh Old Site choirs, traditionally leads in providing music at an annual Christmas and Easter cantata. These feature dramatized celebrations of classic biblical stories, accompanied by narration and musical selections.

Mrs. Anita Scott serves as the Senior Choir's director, while Deaconess Eleanor Braxton is the choir's president. Accompanists include Ms. Jeneen Spruill, Mrs. Marcelena Eure, and Mrs. Joan Olson.

The Senior Choir has an "open door" policy, welcoming anyone who is interested in singing with the choir. Practice is held on Thursday evenings, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Its members enjoy a continuing spirit of fellowship and support.
