Be merciful to me, Lord, for I am faint; O Lord, heal me! Psalm 6:2a Shiloh Old Site's Spiritual Enrichment Ministries Wednesday Evening Bible Study
EXCEPT DURING the summer and certain holiday periods, a Bible study group meets at the church most Wednesday evenings at 7:30 p.m.. This is an excellent opportunity to deepen your knowledge of the Hebrew and Christian scriptures, reflect on their meaning for the contemporary world, and engage in lively discussion about many important issues and concerns. There's also usually a lively discussion about ways to apply scripture in our lives and in our world. Sessions begin at 7:30 p.m. and usually end at 8:30 p.m. or shortly thereafter. Anyone is welcome, whether you are from Shiloh Old Site or another church -- or no church at all. Biblical books are explored with integrity and depth, drawing from careful contemporary scholarship, put forth in a way that anyone can understand. No advance preparation is required for those who participate. These Wednesday evening Bible studies are held in various locations at the church's building at 801 Sophia Street in Fredericksburg, Virginia, depending on what space is available and how many people are attendance. Most sessions are held in either Room 103 or in the second-floor church library. During past years, the Tuesday morning and Wednesday evening Bible study groups have explored many different books of scripture, including Ruth, Amos, Habakkuk, Jonah, Luke, Mark, Romans, James, Jude, and Revelation, to name a few. These Bible studies are sponsored by the Faith & Hope Club of Shiloh Baptist Church (Old Site), which provides the materials and resources for the group. Mark William Olson, a member of the club, serves as the group's leader. All are welcome. Note: Occasionally there are special services at Shiloh Old Site on Wednesday evenings, and occasionally there are Wednesday evening church business meetings. On these evenings, no Bible study is held. (If you are in doubt about the schedule, contact Mark William Olson at 540-371-7416.)
